Our sound effects lessons are weekly sessions focused on teaching the process of creating and recording sound effects for film, television, video games, and other media.
You will learn the reproduction of everyday sound effects that are added to media in post-production to enhance audio quality. By doing so, you add realism and emotional depth to visuals, often unnoticed by the audience when done well.
At Momentum Lessons, we teach you how to use common objects used to create footsteps, rustling clothes, glass breaking, etc. apart from the usage of sound libraries that are available online. We also teach you recording techniques to ensure professional-quality sounds and how to sync the video’s actions with visual cues.
Furthermore, we teach you how to layer and combine multiple sound elements for realism (e.g., footsteps + coat rustle). On top of that, we teach audio editing. You will learn how to clean up and process sounds in Logic Pro. You will also learn mixing and blending Foley sounds with dialogue, music, and other effects.
The biggest takeaway you will obtain is to improve your creative problem-solving skills. This is because Foley emphasizes imagination and resourcefulness. You will have to finding unconventional ways to create specific sounds with our guidance, for example, snapping vegetables to represent bones breaking (imagine a zombie movie!). The sky is the limit!

Lessons are held in group lessons with a maximum of 30 students, 2 hours each, with a fee of $50 per hour.
